A paper notebook never asks you to think about its layout. You open it, find a little space, and begin. We want Nostella to feel just as natural as the screen around it changes.
A pocket page, then an open spread
On a phone, one clear workspace keeps a thought close. A wider tablet or unfolded display gives the notebook room to breathe: navigation moves to the side, and the page uses the space you have.
For supported book-fold layouts, the list of notes and the selected note can share the display. You can browse one side and keep your place on the other. The layout follows the space and folding information the device provides.
Designing for iPhone Duo
We are exploring this idea on the iPhone Duo simulator: a broad workspace when fully open and a notebook-like list-and-preview arrangement in a supported partial fold. This is a development preview, not a claim of completed physical-device testing or store availability.
The same notebook, with more room
The aim is continuity. A note should remain familiar whether you are standing with a phone or settling down with a larger screen. The warm paper, expressive Ink companion, and quiet controls keep their identity while the arrangement adapts.
