These terms apply to Nostella and the website at https://nostella.app, provided by thunderflow x, based in India. Effective date: 2026-09-18. Questions can be sent to support@nostella.app.
Use the app and website only if you can accept these terms under the law that applies to you. Where a parent or guardian’s permission is required, obtain it before use. Nothing here limits rights that applicable consumer or privacy law does not allow us to exclude.
Your words and drawings remain yours
You retain your rights in the notes, recordings, drawings and other content you create or import. Using Nostella does not transfer ownership of that content to us. You are responsible for rights and permissions to record, import or share material, including another person’s voice or image.
The app has no public posting service and remains usable locally without an account. Optional cloud sync stores encrypted copies under your account after consent. If you email content to support, you permit us to use it only to handle your enquiry and lawful obligations, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Use it thoughtfully
You may use Nostella for your personal or permitted professional note-taking. Do not use the app or website to violate another person’s rights, distribute unlawful material, interfere with service security or attempt unauthorised access to systems.
The app’s software, visual identity, Living Ink artwork and website materials belong to their respective rights holders. You receive permission to use the app, not ownership of those materials. Open-source components remain subject to their own licences; the app’s Support area includes an open-source licence view.
Take care of your device and copies
Your notebook stays on your device. Device loss, damage, deletion, storage failure or a missing password can affect access. Optional cloud sync requires an account, consent, an active trial or subscription for ongoing uploads, and your recovery key on a new device. The subscription provides 5 GB of total cloud storage; an individual cloud file can be up to 4 GB. Oversized files remain local. Keep that key and copies of important material. Device backups and exports remain separate.
Local protection and cloud encryption have the limits described in the Privacy Policy. We cannot recover a forgotten vault password or cloud recovery key, or restore content after active cloud deletion and backup expiry.
A notebook, with real-world limits
Speech transcripts can contain mistakes. Review them before relying on them. Recognition support varies by device and language. Reminder delivery depends on permissions, system scheduling, device conditions and settings such as Focus or battery restrictions. Nostella is not an emergency alert, medical monitoring or guaranteed-delivery service.
Interactive examples on this website illustrate the app. They do not save a notebook, record your voice or replace the installed app. Features and platform availability may differ between app versions.
App stores and other services
Your use of an app store, device platform or external service is also subject to its applicable terms. The optional monthly cloud subscription is purchased, priced in your App Store storefront currency, renewed and managed by Apple. Deleting a Nostella account does not cancel Apple auto-renewal; cancel separately in Apple subscription settings. For App Store copies, Apple’s standard licensed application agreement applies unless a custom agreement is provided.
Opening outside links or sharing content puts you in contact with your chosen destination. We do not control its availability, policies or handling of your copies.
Availability and responsibility
We aim to keep Nostella useful and reliable, but cannot guarantee that every feature will always be uninterrupted, error-free or available on every device. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app and website are provided as available. This does not remove any non-excludable warranty, remedy or responsibility under the law that applies to you.
You can stop using the app at any time. Review Data & Deletion before deleting it so that you understand what happens to local data, backups and copies shared elsewhere.
Changes and resolving questions
We may update the app, website or these terms. Updated terms will be posted here with their effective date, with additional notice when required by applicable law. No change removes rights you have already acquired under mandatory law.
thunderflow x operates from India. These terms are subject to applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections available where you live. They do not require a particular arbitration process or waive a right to approach a competent court or authority. Start with support@nostella.app if you would like us to help resolve a concern.
